Douglas Melzer is a financial professional from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a well-documented history since his entrance in 2002. Currently, Douglas serves as the Managing Principal of The Next Generation Group, LLC. Next Generation is an Estate, Succession, and Insurance group that positions itself to work closely with families and business owners. The companies focus is to create a legacy that will last for generations. The Next Generation Group, having close relationships with trusted law firms, accountants, financial advisors and insurance companies that work together to provide the most comprehensive planning necessary to a wide variety of client base. Douglas assumed the role of Managing Principal in November, 2015.
Before The Next Gen Group, Douglas was the First Vice President at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. Mr. Melzer attributes much of his success over the years to the Marine Corps. Following High School, he enlisted and eventually deployed to a number of locations throughout the world. As a Disabled Combat Veteran, Douglas is a sitting board member of the Marine Corps Foundation and The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
Douglas Melzer is happily married to his wife of more than 22 years and has five wonderful boys. He graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Economics with a minor in American History.
